JUST SOME STUFF!!!

I had a really great time with the girls on tuesday night making the cute suitcase type box and 3 christmas cards ( scroll down to november classes to look at the project )
We did a lot of laughing and no one went home till 11.40 we finished the stamping around 9.40 and talked for the rest of the time :)
I made these cool packs up to keep all the pre-cut card, ribbon, instructions etc i got the idea from here but sort of changed it around to suit me (click on the photo for a better look) they looked really cool on the table and with the acetate box's right beside them.
I will be doing some more xmas themed classes in december so if you are keen send me an e-mail,
have a corker of a day,

KWERNER CHALLENGE # 32

I was really excited when i saw these colours very simple but can look really effective!
I used the Merry Merry stamp set for the background stamped on DSP paper and the little snowflake that comes in that set.
I also got out my cuttle bug for the word JOY using thick core card so that it would really stand out.
I really enjoyed making this card really basic but is easy to make a heap of them for xmas,
Well better go and get tea organised,

GARDEN WHIMSY

I borrowed this stamp set from Tracey and i have had it far too long!!! I thought i better make something before i give it back.
A couple of weeks ago i went to a $3 card day that was held at the talented Megan Finers, one of the cards we made used this stamp set and this cool background using the two square punches, i really wanted to make this card again so
i have just changed the colors, paper tolled out the butterfly and flower and added a little ribbon and hodge podge.
I really enjoy going to these card days, you dont have to think ( sometimes i find that hard lol) about making the cards all the hard work is done, you can try out stamps you dont have, and make as much mess without cleaning up within reason of course!!!
This stamp set is called Garden whimsy and i will be putting it on my wish list for sure, and did you notice the cool DSP paper !!
( also thank you to all the kind people who have been leaving lovely messages on my blog it really makes my day)
Anyway its a lovely day i must get outside,

KWERNER CHALLENGE # 30

Man does the week go fast!!! Another challenge and i adore the colours, The photo of the bedroom with all those lovely flowers all over the bedspread inspired me to use the stamp set"Friendly Flowers" this is in the new mini which will be out in December.
I white embossed the biggest flower in the set white it looks a bit like lace, and then continued to layer the rest of the flower with the other flower stamp sets, adding a old olive felt flower and brad in the middle.
Its a real simple card but i enjoyed making it, Must get outside its a lovely day!!

SUMMER MINI HERE WE COME!!

Ohhh!! I am in heaven.
I spent the good part of this morning mounting and putting together some of my new stamps from the new Summer Mini Catalogue. Tonight i just had to have a quick play, I used the stamp set called "Embrace Life." I absolutely love it and the coordinating DSP paper that goes with it!!!! You should click on the photo to enlarge it so that you can see how cool the paper is. I also sewed on some beads to accent the flower with lots of layering, I'm really going to enjoy this stamp set.
I think I will send this card to a friend who has had a really hard week with a husband in hospital so i hope it brightens her week!!
Have a great night.

VERY MERRY!!!

Just a quick post to show you what i made as a gift. Its a very simple card that took no time at all to make, click on the photo to make the image bigger, the cards are just under 4x4 and i altered the measurements of the bottom box so that the cards fit in :) (scroll down archive posts to see the tutorial link on how to make this box)
Merry, Merry stamp set from Stampin up, is such a versatile stamp set i especially love the stamp that i used on the background of the cards.
You don't have to have lots of card stock or a thousand ink pads when you first start out stamping, by adding black or just white ( like i have done) to whatever color you have still looks effective.
Its a good idea to buy the stamps that you are attracted to and ribbon (LOL) and as you start using the stamps you can work out and add to the colours you like using.
You cant see that well in the photo but i added Dazzling Diamonds on the background and a brad in the middle of the snowflake.

KWERNER CHALLENGE

I am so excited to finally be able to participate in these colour challenges, I have been a fan of Kwerners blog for awhile and now that i have a blog i can enter YEAH!!!.
I love these colours but don't use them a lot, and i just received Stampin' Ups felt flowers that are in the new mini and couldn't resist putting one on the card somewhere (L0L) We don't have Pacific Blue yet in New Zealand so i used brillant blue instead,

This box and card set is so versatile once you learn how to make it you can change the layout and pick your own colours and apply it to any theme.
This box and card would be perfect for a birthday gift, and wouldn't it look great with a cellophane bag full of pink jellybeans to go inside the box. So if you would like to make this box scroll down to the post called
November classes for details and a picture of exactly what we are making on the night and

AHOY' MATEY!!

I know two postings in one day but the rugby was on tonight and i sooooooo hate watching the rugby so what else was i to do?? Have a go at scrapbooking i thought. Sean was happy because i normally talk, so he was able to concentrate on watching. (lol)
Last night we went to a Animal carnival party, that the All Nations Church put on as a alternative to halloween and the boys dressed up, of course Thomas wanted to dress up as a pirate and looking over the photo's today i knew which stamp set i wanted to use on this scrapbook page.(Ahoy, Matey, which i finally got back from tracey!! :) )
This is my very fist scrapbook page and it took me awhile to get into it, its only 6x6 i hate to think how i will manage doing a 12x12 page (lol) and without ribbon it was almost torture!! I left some room under the photo to write something so thats why there is a gap.
I used the cuttle bug and chipboard for the word Ahoy, if you click on the photo you can see more detail of the stamping and different layers.
Best get to bed so i am not grumpy tomorrow,
Amy

TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR!!!!!

This is my first attempt at a star box, it was a little time consuming but worth it!!!
Its Saturday afternoon here and its pouring down with rain, Sean is playing with the kids playing educational games on the computer, but somehow they still want to play with mum's stamping stuff. Lachlan my 4 year old asked me what i was making, I responded with " just a star box"
"cool mum" he said "is that a box you can put twinkle little stars in?" I said "no its far to wet to go outside and collect stars, I think we will just stick with chocolate peanuts" (lol) kids are so funny aren't they!!!
I am trying my hardest to keep away from using green (lol) So i added the colours Chocolate chip and River Rock into the mix, DSP Brocade Background compliments those colours beautifully.
And of course i had to put some ribbon on it somewhere. (LOL)
This is a fantastic box to make for presents if you click HERE it will take you to some instructions on how to make the box, and to make the lid. I just made a second smaller version of the bottom and it fits perfectly on the top.
Ps If you click HERE it will take you to the link on how to make the Christmas Planner down below,
Enjoy.
